- I started working out seriously in 1993. During college, I rowed on the UC Davis crew team for four years. During these years I began training for triathlons as a form of cross-training for crew. I have since completed the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon and biathlon, the Half-Vineman, and the Triathlon at Pacific Grove five times. I have also run the Rock and Roll Marathon in San Diego once and the Big Sur Marathon three times. The purpose of these events, other than the benefit of cross-training, was not to win but rather for the experience—doing something that I wasn’t sure I could finish.
- As a trainer, my goal is to train someone to be independent and self-reliant in exercising, to take what they learn from our sessions and apply it in a realistic manner to their daily life. I can offer a background in a variety of activities as well as 15 years of training in a gym to help. I’ve worked with a variety of coaches, trainers and athletes; I’ve used that variety of experience as the basis of my training.
